During the presentation event of the new devices, held at the Steve Jobs Theater, Apple also unveiled the new generation of wireless headphones, AirPods with Qi wireless charging.
Since last year, with the release of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple ditched the traditional plug for the 2.5mm audio jack, declaring that the future of technology lies in eliminating wires and adopting wireless technology for auxiliary devices. It was a little weird that time like Apple to talk about the future of wireless technology, because at that time AirPods were not yet released (they appeared on the market only a few months later) and neither was the iPhone, Apple Watch or other devices did not support wireless charging.
A year away, Apple it also came with the first devices with wireless charging (Qi standard). Apple Watch Series 3, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X and with the new AirPods that support Qi wireless charging. Standard that ensures the compatibility of wireless chargers from Samsung, LG, Belkin and other manufacturers with iDevices Apple last generation.
As for the technical specifications of the AirPods, nothing changes compared to the previous generation. Qi wireless charging being the only different feature.

To complete the ecosystem Apple, the American company also launched its first wireless charger. AirPower is the brand's first wireless charger Apple, capable of simultaneously charging both an iPhone X, Apple Watch Series 3, as well as AirPods and their battery case.

The price for the new generation of AirPods is $159 per Apple Store, but considering the evolution of prices in Romania, it is expected that this new generation will exceed 250 EUR on sale. This if we consider that the first models of AirPods are currently sold for more than 220 EUR.
