Update: iPhone 14 it is not compatible on Telekom or Digi Romania.
Digi Romania introduced support for eSIM, and regarding the devices iPhone 14, Apple removed the physical SIM only for those sold in the US.
If you are an iPhone fan and are a subscriber or have a prepaid card with Telekom or Digi Romania, we have bad news. No model of iPhone 14 is not compatible on Telekom or Digi Romania. Mobile operators Digi and Telekom Romania does not currently offer support eSIM.
During the launch event of the new range of iPhone 14, Apple exposed the new technologies present on the top models iPhone 14 Pro si iPhone 14 Pro Max. From the official technical specifications, the new models that will be launched soon on the market, do not support physical SIM, but only Dual eSIM. Both on top models and on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
This means that subscribers or those who have Telekom or Digi Romania prepaid cards will not be able to buy iPhone 14 to use in these networks.

Why iPhone 14 it is not compatible on Telekom or Digi Romania
The first operator to enter eSIM it was in Romania Orange, followed by Vodafone. Both operators promoted the new digital SIM technology for a while, but it failed to gain popularity in Romania. Most customers not understanding the advantages of a eSIM instead of a physical SIM.
Both Apple as well as rivals from Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers have introduced support for eSIM still a few years ago. They still left the physical SIM slot, especially for countries where there is no support for the technology yet eSIM.
Apparently, on the date of the official launch of the new ones iPhone 14, both Telekom and Digi Romania do not offer support for eSIM. Which means that the new model of iPhone 14 it is not compatible on Telekom or Digi Romania.
Vodafone customers and Orange Romania who plan to buy one of the new models iPhone 14 can be happy about this news. Operators provide support for eSIM and in addition, I can hope that they will find the new models in the retailers' stock more quickly.
You should update this. Digi Romania now offers esim for any phone. While they only have a small list of supported phones and they state that no other phone works, it works on any phone with esim. I tested it with an unsupported phone and it works really well.
