Location Services on iPhone is a feature that uses device location information to provide personalized services and functionalities for installed iOS applications and Apple services.

Location Services on iPhone use GPS, Bluetooth, and request Wi-Fi hotspot locations and mobile phone towers to determine the approximate location of your device.

For example, apps like ridesharing companies such as Uber, Bolt, or Lyft request access to your device's location services. This allows the driver to know exactly where to pick up the customer, and the location is shared within the app.

GPS navigation apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze use these services to locate you and guide you to your specified destination.

Another example is the Camera app, which uses iPhone's location services to save metadata about the location where photos or videos were taken. Later, these photos can be sorted based on the location where they were captured.

In addition to apps, location services on iPhone are also used by system services. Find My iPhone, HomeKit, Share My Location, Compass Calibration, are just a few of the iOS services that use Location Services.
