How would it be to have an iPhone with a removable, easy-to-change battery? There would be no need to look for an authorized service Apple when the health of the battery drops a lot and we need to replace it with a new one.

So far the American company Apple was forced to make some changes to the devices sold in Europe. Even if some of these changes do not appear in the current iPhone generations, in the future they will certainly exist. Loading USB-C, App Store alternative developed by other companies, access to the NFC chip, plus a few more. In the not too distant future, Apple they could be forced to return to iPhone devices whose batteries can be easily changed by users. More exactly, iPhone with removable battery, easy to change, without the need for users to go to the service Apple for this operation.

This regulation will of course be applied to other phone manufacturers, but if it is not new for Samsung, Huawei and other manufacturers, we could have first iPhone from history with removable battery.

When will the first iPhone with removable battery appear?

The law that contains this provision is currently under discussion in the European Parliament, and from its entry into force, 3 years and 6 months will pass until manufacturers will be legally obliged to sell mobile phones with removable batteries. So most likely by 2027 - 2028, if that Apple and other producers will not decide to make this major change sooner.

This is what happened in the case of the law that requires all mobile phones to use USB-C for loading. Although the law has been in force for several years, Apple only in 2023 will the first iPhone with USB-C for Europe and the port will be abandoned Lightning. At least for the iPhone.
