Many users complain about a sound issue with MacBook Pro speakers when trying to listen to music, speak through FaceTime, or play sound from any audio source. The sound from MacBook Pro speakers is highly distorted, with interruptions and very disturbing frequencies.
This audio playback issue occurs quite frequently on MacBook Pro laptops from 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019 with Intel processors. There are numerous YouTube videos showing this problem where MacBook Pro owners complain about these strange sounds when playing audio content.

In my case, the audio issue suddenly appeared on a MacBook Pro 15-inch, 2017 with macOS Ventura operating system, and I noticed it when I wanted to listen to a song on Apple Music. Everything sounds normal on AirPods, but strange sounds are heard when the sound is played through the built-in speakers of the MacBook.
What can you do if there's a sound issue with MacBook Pro speakers?
When this audio playback problem occurs on MacBook Pro, a permanent solution might be possible through a macOS operating system update. Fortunately, it seems to be a driver error and not related to hardware that requires repairs at an Apple service center.
A temporary workaround for these strange sounds is to connect headphones with a jack to the MacBook Pro and then disconnect them.
In my case, after disconnecting the jack headphones, the sound on the MacBook Pro speakers returned to normal.
