Although this moment seems far away, Elon Musk confirmed in a post on the X network (formerly Twitter) that the official Tesla application for Apple Watch will be released. Although Musk didn't specify a time frame for the app's release, many Tesla car owners have been asking for the feature for several years.
Currently, Tesla car owners can use the iOS app to check the car's battery charge level, unlock and lock the car, plus many other diagnostic, location and management options.
This news comes on the heels of a post on the X Network in which the owner of a Tesla car complains that she was stuck outside the car after her iPhone shut down. Even though the situation was not a very pleasant one, Elon Musk answered in the affirmative when asked if there will be an official Tesla app for Apple Watch. This would be primarily useful for opening the car when the iPhone stops working.

It is not yet clear what plans Tesla has in this regard, but Apple Watchalready supports the ability to unlock vehicles even when the battery is dead – a feature that is also present on the iPhone. To implement this functionality, Tesla would have to change the design of the cars to integrate support for the CarKey function from Apple, which is not good news for those who own older cars.
