About a week ago, iOS users noticed that I can't use it anymore AirPlay to play Netflix content on TV, via Apple TV. It's not a big drama because Apple TV supports the Netflix application. Likewise, many smart TVs support Netflix.

Customers used to watch movies and documentaries Netflix by AirPlay, they should reorient themselves. Netflix explains in an interview for The Verge, as they limited the access of iOS users to AirPlay, following the decision Apple to provide support AirPlay several TV companies. This means that in the future, iOS users will be able to send content to the TV via AirPlay, without having to Apple TV.
As far as Netflix is concerned, the company mentions that by offering support for third-party TV terminals via AirPlay (and not only to Apple TV), there is no way to distinguish between devices, and the user experience will be affected. Therefore, they decided to stop the support AirPlay for Netflix, so that the quality standards of the service are met.

We want to make sure our members have a great Netflix experience on any device they use. With AirPlay support rolling out to third-party devices, there isn't a way for us to distinguish between devices (what is an Apple TV vs. what isn't) or certify these experiences.

Therefore, we have decided to discontinue Netflix AirPlay support to ensure our standard of quality for viewing is being met. Members can continue to access Netflix on the built-in app across Apple TV and other devices.

It is not known if Netflix will add support for in the future AirPlay or they will stick to this decision. One thing is certain though. Netflix, the largest provider of online movies and documentaries, is starting to feel the breath of the new similar service that will be launched by Apple this autumn.
Apple TV+, will be an online movie and documentary platform, available to both iOS users, macOS as well as smart TVs from companies such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba and others.

I am happy to share my experiences in the field of computers, mobile phones and operating systems, to develop web projects and to bring the most useful tutorials and advice. I like to "play" on the iPhone, MacBook Pro, iPad, AirPort Extreme and on operating systems macOS, iOS, Android and Windows.
