Starting with iOS 17.4, Apple brings major changes to iPhone, iPad, and Mac for users in the European Union. On these devices, users can install apps from other sources without relying solely on the App Store. Furthermore, after initializing the operating system on iPhone or iPad, users must choose which default browser they want to use for internet browsing.
Depending on the region (country) where the user is located, a list of browsers is provided from which the user can choose.
Personally, I consider Safari to be the safest browser for Apple devices. It seems very well optimized (understandably so, being developed by Apple), both for the latest models of iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and for older models. Safari offers iCloud sync for absolutely all content, including saved passwords, browsing history, open web pages, which means that users can access them from any device logged into the same Apple ID account.

How to change the default browser on iPhone or iPad

1. If not already installed, install the browser you want to use for internet browsing.
2. Open the iPhone settings, then scroll down to the browser app you want to set as default for internet browsing. In my example, I chose Chrome.
3. In the browser settings menu, go to the "Default Browser App" option and select the new default browser for your device.
That's it. This way, you've managed to change the default browser on iPhone. After making this change, links from email, social networks, or messages will open in the new browser you selected.
