If you have important messages to send by email but when you compose them it is not the optimal time to send them, learn from this tutorial how to send a scheduled email from Mac.

Apple introduced many features on the new versions of the operating systems for Mac, iPhone and iPad, including scheduled email. The possibility of composing an e-mail message in the Mail application, which is scheduled to be sent at a certain date and time. In this tutorial you will see how to send a scheduled email from Mac from the Mail application.

A older article I showed how you can send a scheduled e-mail from the iPhone from the Mail application (iOS 16).
Pe macOS Ventura, the option from scheduled send (or Send Later) is almost identical to the one on iOS.

How to send a scheduled email from Mac from the Mail application – Scheduled Send or Send Later

After you open the Mail application, write the message and enter the address to which the message should be sent, next to the Send button there is a down arrow. Under that arrow are the options to “Send Later". That is, the message can be written now, but sent later or at a set date and time.

The user can choose for the message to be sent at times set by the application. In the evening at 21:00 p.m., in the morning at 08:00 a.m. or you can set a time and date for the message to be sent to the recipient.

After scheduling the sending date, the message is sent in a dedicated outgoing folder that the user can find in the left side bar of the Mail application. Send Later.

It is very important to know that the message can no longer be edited. Only the date and time of dispatch can be edited, using the "Edit" button. Therefore, you cannot edit a scheduled email in the Mail application on Mac, iPhone or iPad.

When editing the sending date of the message, you need a little attention. I don't know for what reasons, Apple established that when the date and time of dispatch are edited, the date and time of the edition should be preset. If by mistake you press "Schedule” message will be sent immediately.

Another oddity is the warning message that appears only then when we schedule the shipment an email message to the data set by the application. "Send 21:00 Tonight" and "Send 08:00 Tomorrow".

"This message will be sent at the scheduled time. This device needs a network connection then to ensure delivery."

From what I understand Mac it must be open and have an internet connection for the message to be sent. However, this message does not appear if we manually choose the date and time of dispatch.

Most likely Apple will bring more updates to this system for the scheduled sending of e-mail messages in the near future Mac and iPhone.

I am happy to share my experiences in the field of computers, mobile phones and operating systems, to develop web projects and to bring the most useful tutorials and advice. I like to "play" on the iPhone, MacBook Pro, iPad, AirPort Extreme and on operating systems macOS, iOS, Android and Windows.
